OfferEveryone welcome
Home-cooked dinner tonight, €12
Lentils, salad and dessert. Just ask when you arrive.

A free app for albergues on the Camino. It answers the “any beds?” question for you, lets you hold beds for pilgrims who keep their word, keeps all your bookings in one book, and sends the guest register from your phone.

Each one takes a job off your hands. Use one, two or all of them; the ones you don't use, you hide in the app.
Live Bed Count. Answers the “any beds?” question for you.
Bed requests. Requests for a bed for today and tomorrow, or up to a week ahead if you want, on everyone's word.
Reservation book. All your bookings in one book: WhatsApp, phone calls, Booking.com, the door and All Caminos.
Guest register. To SES.HOSPEDAJES or SIBA, from your phone, and in line with GDPR.
None of this replaces how you run your albergue: it sits alongside it. And you change it whenever you like, for a day or for an hour.

You mark tonight's beds for each room type: Available, A few left or Full. The pilgrim walking toward you sees it in All Caminos and in the Wise Pilgrim route apps, with your prices, and breakfast or dinner if they're included.

DormA few left
If you're full, they know that too. They find a bed somewhere else before they reach your door, and you don't have to explain.
Live Bed Count is switched on when you ask for it in the app, for each user as soon as their link to the albergue is verified.

In “Today at your albergue” you post an offer, an event or a notice. Pilgrims walking your way see it straight away in All Caminos, on your albergue's page, and the app translates it into the pilgrims' languages.
For example, the pilgrims' blessing, a massage, a cultural event or an exhibition: whatever is on at your albergue today.

Only events open to everyone show here.
In the town's list of places to stay, your albergue carries “Offer today”, “Event today” or “Notice today”, and whoever taps it reads the rest on your albergue's page. If an event is “Open to everyone”, it also shows on the town page, for pilgrims staying somewhere else.
If the offer has a price, write it in the title or the text, as in “Home-cooked dinner tonight, €12”.

Up to a week ahead, if you choose.
The pilgrim asks you for a bed in All Caminos or in any Wise Pilgrim guide. You answer within the time you set, 15 or 30 minutes: you pick the room and confirm it, decline, or offer a different one. They see the room and its price, and the bed is held.

A system that favours and rewards the honest, and leaves the no-shows to find another way.
Before you confirm, you see the pilgrim's history: whether they show as New, Trusted or Caution, how many stays they've kept and how many times they didn't turn up. Every stay kept adds 5 points. A late cancellation takes away 5, and a no-show 25.
If you like, Auto-Accept confirms requests for you from anyone above the score you set, for each room type.
Your word counts too. Keep the beds you confirm and pilgrims see “Keeps its word” next to your name. Answering late, declining or letting a request expire never counts against you. Until you confirm, you only see “María G.”: not their phone, not their email.
“Keeps its word”: at least 15 points of honoured beds over 3 or more nights in 90 days, no confirmed bed cancelled by you, and no turn-away at the door that counts.
You can offer the pilgrim online payment, room type by room type. With Fast check-in it's their choice: they pay before arriving if they like, and check-in goes quicker; if they don't pay, they never lose the bed. With Required, the bed is held once it's paid. The money goes straight to you, with no commission.
The Square or Stripe account is yours, and you open it yourself; the app only connects it. Square works in Spain and France, and Stripe in Spain, Portugal and France (Square doesn't take cards in Portugal, so there it's Stripe). When you want to offer online payment, ask for it in the app and I switch it on.
Bed requests are switched on when you ask, once your albergue is linked to its listing in the guide.

The ones that come by WhatsApp, by phone, by Telegram or through Booking.com, the pilgrim knocking at the door and the requests from All Caminos: they all go into one list, night by night. At a glance you see how many beds are left, who arrives today and who to reconfirm tomorrow, with the message ready in their language.

When the book fills a room, the app sets it to Full: pilgrims stop asking for it and, if it is tonight, Live Bed Count says so too. If someone cancels, it asks you before opening the bed again.
Backed up to your account. Names, contacts and notes are encrypted on your phone before they leave it: only you can read them, on your phones and on your computer. You decide how long they're kept.
New: I'm testing it this winter with a few albergues before opening it to everyone.

Since December 2024, every lodging in Spain must send its guests' details to SES.HOSPEDAJES, run by the Ministry of the Interior, within 24 hours. The app turns it into something you do between the welcome and the coffee.
In Portugal, the register goes to SIBA from the same app.

The pilgrim shows you their QR, or you type the details in.

The app checks them against the Ministry's rules before sending.

You send them from your phone. A group goes together, and if something fails, you see which guest and why.
Not every pilgrim carries a smartphone, and they don't need one. You can always enter a guest by hand, and the app reads most of the details for you: from a photo of the ID card or passport, or by holding the document to the phone to read its chip (NFC).

In manual entry, «Escanear documento» (Scan document).

From a photo, the app reads the name, number and dates, and marks what it has checked and what's left to type.

From the chip, the details arrive signed by the country that issued the document.

The form is filled in. You add what's missing and send it like any other register.
The photo is read on the phone and deleted straight away. The chip is read on the phone too, offline.
Royal Decree 933/2021 requires you to collect sensitive personal data from every guest. GDPR and Spain's LOPDGDD can bring heavy fines if that data isn't collected and kept securely. Hospitaleros are caught between two sets of rules: obliged to collect the data, and liable if it's mishandled. The app solves both: you meet your reporting duty to the Ministry, and the data stays protected the way GDPR requires.
Zero knowledge. Wise Pilgrim SL has no access to your SES credentials or your guests' data. Your credentials stay on your phone, and records are encrypted on your phone before they're uploaded. My server only keeps encrypted data I can't decrypt.
Direct connection. Your phone sends the data to the Ministry of the Interior over HTTPS, without passing through anyone.
Real encryption. AES-256-GCM, with a key derived from your password (PBKDF2, 600,000 iterations) that never leaves your phone.
Only what the law asks. Not one field more than Royal Decree 933/2021 requires.
Automatic deletion. Encrypted records delete themselves after 3 years, the legal period.
No screenshots. Screens with personal data are protected against screenshots and screen recording.
No stored photos of documents. If you scan an ID card or passport, the photo is read on the phone and deleted straight away. No document is ever kept as an image.
The best data protection is making the data unreadable, even to me.

What you set shows up in All Caminos and in the 16 Wise Pilgrim route apps, on the Caminos of France, Portugal and Spain. Your albergue also gets its own page on allcaminos.com, with your beds kept up to date, and you can link to it from your website.
In Your statistics you see how many pilgrims viewed your albergue, how many asked you for a bed, and what happened to the beds you confirmed.
Map of the Caminos to Santiago in France, Portugal and Spain, drawn from All Caminos' real GPS tracks and the positions of the places to stay in the guides.

I've spent 25 years on the Camino, making guides from Galicia. In 2012 I published the first app for the Camino. Since then I've worked to put more good information within everyone's reach, building one tool after another. Hospitalero is the culmination of that work.
Helping the people who help pilgrims.
Free. No subscription and no commission. The four tools are free, always: the guest register (SES.HOSPEDAJES and SIBA), Live Bed Count, bed requests and the reservation book. If there's something that would make your job easier, tell me and I'll gladly look into it; depending on how complex it is, it may need a small fee.
Nobody should have to pay for their privacy; my business model is built on providing quality data and quality tools. The funding comes from users who donate, upgrade or support it in other ways.

No. Use what you need and hide the rest in the app.
You mark them as a no-show, and it never counts against you. If they hadn't paid online, they lose 25 trust points. If they paid online, you keep the money and they don't lose points.
No. It's encrypted on your phone with your password before a copy is saved, and I can't read it. It's deleted 3 years after the stay.
In Spain, everything. In Portugal, everything, with the register going to SIBA. In France, Live Bed Count and bed requests; no register is needed there.
Hospitalero, the hospitalero's app, is in Spanish, Portuguese, French and English. All Caminos, the pilgrims' app, is in 9 languages, and its check-in part (the pilgrim's details and QR) in 22, so almost any pilgrim can use it.
Download the app and create your account. I'll link your albergue to its listing in the guide and to the pilgrims.
